Dear Friends,

Greetings from the office of TNOA Journal of Ophthalmic Science and Research. Thank you all for the support and cooperation extended to the Editorial Board.

“The first step towards getting somewhere is to decide you're not going to stay where you are.” —John Pierpont “J. P.” Morgan.

Transitions in medicine involve the assumption of new responsibilities in an established organization, ensuring that the baton is passed smoothly and that successful trajectories are maintained and improved. But, starting something new, such as founding a medical society, starting a new journal, or building a hospital from the ground up, is an uncommon professional privilege.

I, therefore, feel honored to help launch the first online edition of TNOA Journal of Ophthalmic Science and Research, scientific journal from the TNOA.

This issue is a special one for us at the editorial board, even though it was delayed by months. This issue was prepared in full through the newly launched TNOA Journal of Ophthalmic Science and Research (TJOSR) Manuscript Management system. The submission of manuscripts, peer-review process, proofreading, plagiarism check, and the entire manuscript processing were done online.

I again find myself in the right place at the right time and it is a privilege to work with Dr. Murali Ariga, Dr. Rachula Daniel, the joint editors, and the Editorial board. I thank all the authors for submitting their manuscripts to TJOSR. A big thanks to the reviewers for their timely review and critical comments, which help us to fine tune the articles and publish quality articles.

We lead off with an original manuscript from Dr. Vasumathi et al. about a wonderful solution to a common problem in ophthalmic practice, “A retrospective study on no suture, no glue conjunctival autograft in the management of pterygium.”

There is a broad experience of Dr. Arulmozhi Varman et al. on OCT angiography and Dr. Bhupendra Patel concerning his management of aging face with botulinum toxins and fillers.

“How to design a research study at your clinic,” by Dr. Rachula Daniel, will inspire the clinicians in practice to put their act together to start their scientific publishing activity.

A bouquet of case reports is sure to tickle the ophthalmic practitioners' brain. A drug review of newer drugs in glaucoma management by Dr. Sujatha Kadambi will be of interest to postgraduates and the practitioners alike.

This issue's spotlight is on retina, focused on diabetic retinopathy. Veteran Vitreo-retinal surgeons share their preferred practice patterns.

The manuscript's management system is now live/online. You can login at http://www.journalonweb.com/tjosr. Online journal and ahead of print of articles can be accessed in the website. I request members to login as author and submit articles to the journal (http://www.journalonweb.com/tjosr) using your login name and password.
