Dear Friends,

Greetings from the office of TNOA Journal of Ophthalmic Science and Research (TJOSR).

It is a moment of immense joy and pride to help launch the second online edition of TJOSR, the scientific journal from the TNOA.

“All you need is the plan, the road map, and the courage to press on to your destination.

Sometimes it's the journey that teaches you a lot about your destination.”

This is so true with regard to the TJOSR and I wish to thank you all yet again for the support extended to the editorial board at this period of transition of the TNOA journal to becoming an indexed journal.

As you are aware, the submission of manuscripts, peer-review process, proofreading, plagiarism check, and the final processing of manuscript are now fully done online. The manuscript's management system is now live/online.

Everybody can login at http://www.journalonweb.com/tjosr to access the online journal and ahead of print of articles. I also request our members to log-in as author and submit articles to the journal (http://www.journalonweb.com/tjosr) using your login name and password.

It is indeed encouraging to see authors submitting their research papers through the newly launched TJOSR Manuscript Management system. I thank all the authors for submitting their manuscripts to TJOSR.

We start with a well-written original article by Dr. Sujatha Mohan et al. which highlights wavefront analysis as being an additional tool for detection of keratoconus. The original article “Clinical profile of nonstrabismic Binocular Vision Anomalies in Patients with Asthenopia in North-East India” by Damaris Magdalene et al. emphasizes the importance of early detection of nonstrabismic binocular vision anomaly to improve academic performance in schoolgoing age group.

Another original article by Suneeta Dubey et al., “Quality Healthcare and Clinical Processes-An amalgamation needed to achieve Clinical Excellence” is a valuable read, to those who constantly strive for excellence in patient care at their work places.

A review article on “Update on optical biometry and IOL power calculation” by Nazneen Nazm et al. has brought out technical comparison of contemporary biometers along with relevant current review of literature.

“Generic Drugs in Ophthalmic Practice: Boon or Bane?” is a review article by Murali Ariga et al. which gives the reader an overview of the wide variety of glaucoma medications and how to optimize them for the benefit of the patient.

There is an exciting collection of interesting case reports in this issue, on topics ranging from cataract, glaucoma, retina, to neuro-ophthalmology. The photoquiz and journal scan are bound to catch your eye.

I wish to specially thank all our reviewers for their timely reviews, which go a long way in publishing better quality articles.

Though the road ahead for the journal is well paved now, it is for all the members to make use of the opportunity to publish their interesting cases as original research articles, review articles, case series, case reports, brief communications, photoquiz, journal scan, and encourage the undergraduate and postgraduate students to do so.

We look forward to your feedback as “Letters to the Editor,” which will also be published.

I hope you will find this issue of the TJOSR interesting and useful.
