  Case Description Top

A 33-year-old female presented with left eye diminution of vision for the past 2 months. Best-corrected visual acuity was 20/20, N6 in the right eye and 20/30, N12 in the left eye. Bilateral anterior-segment examination was unremarkable. Right eye fundus showed incomplete, inferior uveal coloboma. Left eye fundus showed flame-shaped retinal hemorrhages at the posterior pole along with retinal thickening, optic disc pit, and inferior uveal coloboma [Figure 1]. Ocular coherence tomography passing through the macula confirmed the macular edema. A diagnosis of left-eye macular tributary vein occlusion, optic disc pit, and both-eye uveal coloboma was made. The patient was injected intravitreal bevacizumab in the left eye, and after 1 month, the edema had resolved with the vision improving to 20/20, N6.
Figure 1: (a) Montage fundus photograph of the left eye showing optic disc pit, uveal coloboma, and tributary vein occlusion. (b) Red-free image showing optic disc pit with peripapillary chorioretinal atrophy and intraretinal hemorrhages at the macula. (c) Optical coherence tomography passing through the optic disc pit (asterisk). (d) Optical coherence tomography through the macula showing thickening

Optic disc pit with coloboma[1] has been reported prior, however, an occurrence of a retinal vein occlusion in association with the two conditions has never been reported. Our case shows the presence of a macular tributary vein occlusion with macular edema in a case of optic disc pit with uveal coloboma. The vein occlusion may not be related to optic disc pit and uveal coloboma.
