Dear seniors and friends,

I thank you all for electing, to make me the Editor of Tamil Nadu Journal of Ophthalmic Science and Research (TJOSR). It is indeed a great honor and pleasure to be the Editor of this prestigious journal.

Ophthalmology is undoubtedly one of the most rapidly evolving fields of medicine, and we the editorial team of the TJOSR will strive to help you keep abreast of the latest in technology, diagnostics, and management. The Pondicherry conference highlighted several go-green concepts, and we hope to continue the trend by giving our members the choice of opting out of hard copies. Mailers regarding this will soon be sent out to all our members.

The journal was indexed under the dynamic leadership of Dr. T. Nirmal Fredrick. We are deeply conscious of the responsibility of maintaining the high standard set by his team and will try to get the journal indexed by higher indexing agencies.

We plan to introduce a new section titled, “One case, one pearl” – brief synopses of interesting cases with a take-home message. We invite contributions to this section from our members. I thank you all once again and endeavor to do justice to the faith you have placed on me.
